Happy Birthday Shawn!!!

Shawn is 34 today. We had dinner and cake with my mom last night and tonight we will have dinner with his friends. We are taking bets with each other to see if his parents even call.

Ghetto-fabulous Fun!

Saturday night Shawn had a little party for his work and paintball friends. Originally it was, "come over, bring your beer, hang out in our yard/driveway." I really didn't understand the concept so I didn't invite anyone. Ok, we don't provide food, we don't provide alcohol, we don't even provide chairs.....just come and stand in our driveway?!?! So he tells me friday that we are having food. Oh great! Who is getting this magical food? Now we need plates and utensils, etc. I'm getting soda too. I don't care that he says people won't drink it. I think I'm going insane.

So friday night and saturday morning we go running around getting plates, hamburger, hotdogs, buns, chicken wings, stuff to make cookies, etc.

It was definitely a success and it was definitely Ghetto-Fabulous. Everyone (including us) had a good time. I would be willing to do it again, no question (with more notice hopefully). Everyone was very chill and it was a lot of laughs. I didn't take a lot of pictures. These are the ones Shawn put on his MySpace. I think I took more but I haven't uploaded them yet.

And then someone brought an ice luge. It was definitely the hit of the party.

Very productive weekend

HOW COULD I FORGET?!!?!?

We also saw Tedy Bruschi this weekend when we went to get dinner at Shady Brook Farms or whatever the hell the organic flatbread restaurant was called. He is SO cute. No pictures b/c we didn't want to disturb him. ;)




This weekend Kelly and I went to a 3 day crop. Normally I don't get much done at them. This time I got so much done and took a class.

I think I'm going to use this as a mail organizer. A place for my mail, a place for Shawn's, and places for pens, stamps, and return address labels.

The rest of the time I worked on Christmas projects. I got a whole set of them 99% done. 6 of them. Now I just have to hold on to them until December. Here is a pic...

Another weekend down the Cape

Gorgeous weather all weekend. We spent saturday fishing, walking the beach, and grilling some yummy food. Shawn and I had a great time with Dad and Ginny.

Sunday was spent (very early) at the Cape Cod Paintball field. Beisides getting hit with a couple of errant paintballs (OWWWW!!) it was a very good day. Boston Crisis came in second place in their division (of 30 teams) but more importantly, won the Sportsmanship Award for the tournament. That meant MUCH more to them.

How I spent my weekend

I finally had a semi relaxing weekend. It started off bumpy though. The plan was for me, my mom , and my godmother to go to my stepmother's house down the Cape (following that?). So friday I find out that my godmother needs to be home early on sunday. In affect cutting our weekend into a day down the cape. (not happy). then Saturday morning (even though I wanted to leave friday night) my mom starts getting an anxiety attack and doesn't know if she wants to go. I was going regardless if they went. I was bummed b/c I would have asked other people to go if I knew the people I asked were going to be such a problem. LOL!!

So finally we all decide to go and we are on the road by 10am. Our first stop was a TINY store in Dennis called Eden. It's where the original Cape Code screwball bracelets are made and it's the only place that are really sanctioned by law to make them.

Everyone waits outside until they are called in. I couldn't get a picture of inside.

After that we headed back up route 6 and went to Hyannis Center to do some shopping. I finally got to go to Colorful Creations Scrapbook store. LOVED it!!!

After a long day we went back to the house in Buzzards Bay and crashed. In the morning we checked out the beach, went to the Christmas Tree Shop and then home. A little bit of traffic and a lot of aggravation on my part not knowing where I was going. ;)

Maybe I'll do it all again next weekend. :)

On my way to becoming a great cook

But I did get my All Clad pan set last night. So excited!! These will hopefully be my "pass down to my kids" set of pans.

Aren't they pretty? They will make me a better cook, right? LOL!!

Relay for Life

I know I have to blog about the wedding but this is more important.....

My family and I are doing the Relay for Life in Mansfield in a couple of weeks. Ginny, Jenn, and I are walking for Ginny and anyone else who has/had Cancer. If there is anything you can give we would really appreciate it. Even if it's just a "Good Luck". :)

Pledge of the Cute Girl Sisterhood

Alright ladies, it's that time of year once again!!! I think we need to be reminded of a few things. So my sisters, PLEASE, raise your big toes and repeat after me below....

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh , intact and chip-free.I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe.

I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker,mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial ; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr.Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, lowprice of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle. (this does NOT apply to Crocs!!)

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they are actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go to my local nail salon at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $35 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear... nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals.

Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters.

The invitation....

Today was a bust

I called my mom first thing in the morning and I heard this horrible voice on the other end. She was VERY sick. She had even been throwing up over the night. it was her first time ever...poor thing. :(

Well, we were supposed to go to Andi's Baby Shower and Aidan's 1st birthday. Needless to say, we didn't make it to either. My mom was too sick and I had been with her for the past 4 days so I didn't want to infect anyone.

I spent the day (after I dropped on Andi's gift.) writing out wedding invitation envelopes. Mom was too sick and I wanted them out on monday. I don't think I'm going to make it. I started to feel crappy in the afternoon too. :(

This was the gift I made for Andi. The nursery is going to Peter Rabbit. If you knew Andi, the onesies are VERY appropriate.

I think there are some ice chips in hell

This morning and the lovely time of 9am (UGH!) my mom, MY DAD, and I met up at Lake View Pavilion for our final details meeting. And believe it or not, it went AMAZING! Everyone was agreeable. There was no yelling. It was a lot of "What would you like?" "oh that sounds good." "What ever you think is best." I think my parents were invaded by Pod People. ;)

The gift that brought me to tears.

My Godmother made me a memory quilt. She got pictures of Shawn and I when we were little, with important family members, and then pictures of us together. She also put our wedding and shower invitiations on it. All the buttons and bows are from outfits of mine when I was little (even one of my school uniforms). Some buttons are from old clothes of my grandmother (Nonna) who passed away.

I cried and cried and cried when I opened it.

Sorry it's so shiny. I really hate not having my good camera anymore.
